August Update

I can't believe we are already halfway through August - where did the summer go? I haven't gotten much done in the studio, what with our trip to Germany and all the work in the garden. I have been dreaming up designs for my "fall collection," though, and I've been working on my Etsy store. I designed a new logo and banner for the store, using pictures taken in our yard. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. I did put together a cute little drawstring dress with pockets, sort of an experiment. Here are views of the front and back:

I am working on some tunic tops and a few jacket ideas for Fall/Winter, including the empire waisted jacket from the "Samples" post, and an adaptation of the "jacket" pictured in the regency ensemble. There never seem to be enough useful hours in the day, though. I am hoping to get some fabric ready for dyeing soon. The Queen Anne's lace has already been made into a dye, and the goldenrod will be opening soon, which will yield some lovely yellows. Then with an indigo dye bath, I should be able to achieve some sharp greens. We'll see. . .

Anyhow, that's about it for now. If you have a chance, check out the new banner for the Etsy store, and let me know what you think.
