Here is my latest project. I knitted this corset top many years ago, but it was never quite right, so it ended up in the back of my closet somewhere. Then I saw a challenge published in Belle Armoire magazine calling for corsets. I immediately remembered that knitted top, so I dug it out of the closet and embellished away. I dug around in my yarn stash and found some naturally-dyed yarn, so I used those to make some trim, flowers, leaves, and stems. The flower buds were made from other odds and ends of yarn I had from other projects. I thought about adding some beads, but I decided that would be a little too much. The pretty yarns needed all the attention. I was very pleased with the results, and I think that the corset turned out pretty well. You can decide for yourself after you see the pictures.

So, the corset is in the mail now on its way to California. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am chosen for publication. I am still waiting to hear something about my Jane Austen costume, but maybe it's a good sign that it hasn't been returned to me yet. Do feel free to add your comments. It's always helpful to know what other people think.

I like it! The cable stitch at the back to resemble the lacing was well thought out ... very nice.
Good luck and hope it get picked for publication!
