EcoMonday Mélange

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was catching up with Google Reader yesterday and saw so many wonderful things that I thought I would share them with you here. There isn't really a theme this week, but that's the whole point of a mélange, right? I hope you find something interesting here.

First up is the Haute Nature website's post on Top Cardboard Designs. I thought that the Pee Wee's Playhouse my sister and I had designed was cool, but this article shows that cardboard is great for grown-ups, too. These are some of the most amazing cardboard designs I have ever seen. You will be amazed that these objects are made from simple corrugated cardboard.

While you're at Haute Nature, be sure to check out the Recycled Firehose Bags made by Feuerware in Germany. What a great way to reuse those worn out hoses!

Up next is Ecouterre, which featured a Thanksgiving post on 8 Eco-Fashion Milestones we can all be thankful for. You can also satisfy your inner child while on their site, by checking out the 7 Upcycled Skateboard Wearables to Deck Yourself In and Upcycled Jewelry Made From Color-Pencil Stubs For Your Inner Child.

While you're playing to your inner child, check out A Dirty Commercial Via the Good Folks at Method, featured on Elephant Journal. It's a bit naughty, but your inner juvenile will laugh his head off. Mine did.

For those of you taking advantage of Cyber Monday today, Inhabitat's Green Gift Guide is a fabulous resource (even though yours truly wasn't chosen to be included). You can shop by category (gifts for him, gifts for her, green gadgets, and more) or by price, and you can also find guides to make your own gifts, or ideas for gifts of your own time, like making dinner for a loved one.

Last, but certainly not least in my book, is this morning's post on Ecouterre, "Does Greenwashing Exist in the Fashion Industry?" written by the Creative Director of Hessnatur, who points out some important questions consumers should be asking about clothing that claims to be "eco-friendly. " Education is the best tool, and knowing what questions to ask will help you find the answers you need.

Happy Reading! Best wishes for the coming week!
